Southerly Wastewater Treatment Plant (S76) Sludge Thickening Improvement Project
Ribway was selected by the City of Columbus as part of a consulting team to provide process and electrical engineering design services for a new $63M sludge thickening facility at the 200 mgd Southerly WWTP. Ribway designed the electrical system to feed four 500 HP and one 300 HP Centrifuges with VFD motor controllers, interior and exterior lighting, several sludge feed pumps, and a PLC control system. The primary system included a new 480 Volt 4,000 KVA dual unit substation and two 480 Volt 5,000 AMP motor control centers. The main feed to the North Incinerator Building was also replaced with a new larger 480 Volt 2,000 KVA dual ended Substation. Electrical power was obtained from plant’s 14.4 KV switching station.
