Southerly Wastewater Treatment Plant (S71) New Effluent Pump Station & Effluent Conduit

Ribway was selected as the prime consultant to provide engineering design services for the construction of a new 400 mgd effluent pump station, 15 mgd flushing water pumping station and 600 mgd effluent conduit with a discharge structure. The final effluent pump station includes six (6) 66mgd submersible pumps and a 3,500 sf wet well. The flushing water pump station includes four (4) 4mgd vertical turbine pumps each equipped with automatic back flush strainers and a surge relief valve. Two (2) 90-inch magnetic flow meters measure flow discharged to the river. The discharge conduit is approximately 16 feet wide by 8 feet deep and 2,000 feet long. The project also involved the construction of a new 3,000 sf Effluent Control Building, 400 sf Metering Building, 2,500 sf Electrical Building, a 1,000 sf Sampling Building and a Dechlorination Chamber. Induction units are used to mix Sodium Bisulfite in the wastewater within the Dechlorination Chamber.
