Southerly Wastewater Treatment Plant (S70) Effluent Pump Station & Effluent Conduit, New Levee, Mass Excavation & Dewatering Project

Ribway was selected by the City of Columbus, Ohio as the prime consultant for engineering design and construction management services for this $4M project. This project was constructed to dewater and protect the site against flooding for construction of a new 400 mgd wastewater treatment plant effluent pump station. It included a new 2,500 lf by 15 ft. high clay levee, 500 ft long by 300 ft wide by 25 ft deep excavation, and complex dewatering system with 45 groundwater wells. The project also included construction of sediment ponds and a detailed erosion control plan. Ground water from the wells was discharged to the sedimentation ponds prior to return to the Scioto River.
